## Last Call for LG Phone Updates: Time is Running Out to Patch Your Device

LG phone users, the clock is ticking. If you’re still holding onto a device from the now-defunct smartphone division, you have just two months left to download any remaining Android updates before they become completely inaccessible. LG is officially shutting down its update servers on **June 30th, 2025**, marking the final curtain call for software support.

After exiting the smartphone business in 2021, LG promised three years of Android updates for select models, including the Velvet, Wing, and G- and V-series phones released from 2019 onwards. While that deadline has passed, LG has kept its update servers running longer than initially pledged, offering security patches and upgrades to Android 12 or 13, depending on the device.

However, the grace period is coming to an end. Once the servers are shut down, your LG phone will no longer receive any future improvements or crucial security fixes, leaving it vulnerable to potential threats. While your phone will continue to function, this move signifies a definitive end to its software lifecycle.

Beyond Android updates, LG is also discontinuing its LG Bridge PC software at the end of June. This software was used for transferring files and contacts, as well as for performing updates, backups, and device restoration. Users relying on LG Bridge should plan to find alternative solutions for managing their phone’s data before the deadline.

This development was expected, but serves as an important reminder for LG users to take action. If you’re still using an LG phone, be sure to check for any pending updates and install them before June 30th to ensure your device is as secure as possible. While this won’t guarantee long-term protection, it’s the last chance to keep your device patched and running smoothly.
