## Archil (YC F24) Seeks Distributed Systems Engineer to Revolutionize Cloud Data Access
Archil, formerly known as Regatta Storage, is on a mission to redefine how cloud data is accessed and utilized. The Y Combinator (YC F24) alumni are seeking a talented and driven Distributed Systems Engineer to join their team in San Francisco and help build the next generation of cloud computing infrastructure.
Led by founder Hunter, Archil is developing an “active data layer” that transforms existing S3 (or compatible) buckets into high-speed, infinite, and local file systems for cloud instances. This innovation aims to drastically improve performance for a range of applications, including CI/CD pipelines, stateless Jupyter notebooks for AI researchers, training jobs, and the burgeoning world of AI cloud storage defaults.
The company’s solution has already garnered attention, having launched on Hacker News last Fall. You can find a demo of their product on their website: [https://archil.com/](https://archil.com/).
Now, fueled by growing customer demand and a successful funding round post-YC, Archil is expanding its team of four. They are seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer to focus on building scalable, distributed systems in the cloud. Prior experience in the storage space is not required. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of experience building, scaling, and operating backend software, preferably within a high-growth startup environment.
A strong understanding of the fundamentals of computer science, from CPUs and the Linux kernel to the TCP stack and distributed consensus mechanisms, is crucial. Archil’s tech stack predominantly utilizes Rust for critical components, Go for rapid development, and React/Next.js for the user interface.
The company believes there’s immense opportunity in this space, especially considering the escalating demands of large AI models, massive datasets, and the proliferation of AI agents. With backgrounds in storage infrastructure (at AWS) and AI, the current team is positioned to make a significant impact.
If you’re a builder passionate about creating the next foundation of cloud computing, Archil encourages you to apply.
