## Anker’s Nebula X1: A Cinema-Grade Outdoor Projector with a Premium Price Tag
Anker is stepping up its outdoor entertainment game with the Nebula X1, a new smart projector that promises a complete “cinema-grade” experience. Boasting impressive specs and a hefty price tag, the X1 aims to be the ultimate all-in-one solution for outdoor movie nights and karaoke parties.
The Nebula X1 is built around a bright triple-laser light engine, capable of projecting a sharp 4K image with a claimed 3,500 ANSI lumens. Optical zoom allows for a 200-inch image from 13 to 22 feet away. Adding to its versatility is a built-in gimbal that can tilt the projector up to 25 degrees. This, combined with automatic keystone correction, focus, and ambient light adaptation, ensures the best possible image placement on any screen or wall. The projector even remembers settings for frequently used locations. Dolby Vision certification, supported by a 5,000:1 native contrast ratio and Rec.2020 color support, aims to deliver vibrant and accurate colors.
But the X1 isn’t just about visuals. Anker is emphasizing the audio experience, equipping the projector with four built-in speakers (two 15W and two 5W). For a truly immersive experience, users can opt for the battery-powered Wi-Fi satellite speakers. Each satellite boasts a powerful array of drivers: a 40W pair of front drivers, a 20W upward-firing driver, and a 20W side-firing driver. When paired with the X1 and set to subwoofer mode, this setup creates a 4.1.2 surround-sound experience. While the satellite speakers offer IP54 resistance to dust and rain, the X1 projector itself unfortunately does not.
Rounding out the features, the Nebula X1 includes Google TV built-in, unlocking access to 4K Netflix streams and other popular apps. Anker is also touting its liquid cooling system, claiming it’s an industry first for projectors. This innovative cooling method reduces the need for noisy, high-powered fans, resulting in a relatively quiet 26dB operation. And for karaoke enthusiasts, there’s an optional two-pack of wireless microphones.
All of this comes at a premium price. The Anker Nebula X1 projector will be available starting May 21st for $2,999. For $3,298, the X1 bundle includes the projector, two microphones, a travel case, and the pair of satellite speakers. While the Nebula X1 promises a compelling outdoor cinema experience, its high cost will likely make it a niche product for serious AV enthusiasts.
