## Fubo Still Chasing the Dream: A Sports Bundle to Rival Venu Sports
Despite previous legal battles and a rapidly evolving streaming landscape, Fubo isn’t giving up on its ambition to deliver a comprehensive sports bundle to subscribers. CEO David Gandler reiterated the company’s commitment during a recent earnings call, aiming for a launch in time for the fall sports season.
As reported by *Deadline*, Gandler stated Fubo is actively working to secure content deals with broadcasters beyond Disney’s portfolio, a critical step in building a compelling sports package. While remaining tight-lipped on specific progress, he emphasized the bundle as a key “growth opportunity” for the company.
The ambition is to create a service resembling the previously announced Venu Sports, a joint venture from Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery. Last year, Fubo even launched a lawsuit, arguing that Venu Sports was anticompetitive. However, the lawsuit was settled, resulting in a $220 million payout and an agreement to eventually merge Fubo into Hulu Plus Live TV, a deal expected to finalize in 2026.
With the legal roadblocks cleared, Fubo is pushing forward. Gandler acknowledged the necessity of negotiating fair licensing agreements to ensure a successful launch. While the potential of a revived Venu Sports looms, Fubo aims to carve its own niche in the sports streaming market.
The ultimate success of a comprehensive sports bundle hinges on the participation of other major players like NBCUniversal and Paramount (CBS). Only with broad content support can Fubo truly deliver the “holy grail of sports bundles” and provide a single destination for fans to access their favorite games. While challenges remain, Fubo’s persistence indicates a strong belief in the demand for a dedicated sports streaming solution.
