## Gemini Live’s Screensharing Goes Free for All Android Users
Google is expanding the capabilities of its AI assistant, Gemini, by making the Gemini Live’s screensharing feature completely free for all Android users. This announcement, made via Google’s X account, reverses the previous plan to restrict the feature to Gemini Advanced subscribers.
Gemini Live, which launched earlier this month, allows the AI to analyze and respond to what’s visible through your device’s camera and on your screen. Initially, this functionality was exclusively available to users of the Gemini app on Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S25 devices. Now, anyone with an Android phone and the Gemini app will be able to leverage this powerful feature at no cost.
Google cited positive user feedback as the driving force behind the decision. “We’ve been hearing great feedback on Gemini Live with camera and screen share, so we decided to bring it to more people,” the company stated on X.
The rollout of the free feature begins today and will continue “over the coming weeks,” so users should expect to see the update become available soon. For those unfamiliar with Gemini Live’s capabilities, Google has provided a demonstration video showcasing how the feature can be used. In the video, the AI is used to identify and provide information about marine life viewed through the phone’s camera at an aquarium.
This move from Google comes on the heels of Microsoft announcing the free availability of Copilot Vision, a similar AI tool, within the Edge browser. The increasing accessibility of these AI-powered visual analysis tools suggests a growing trend towards integrating AI more deeply into everyday mobile and browsing experiences.
